Profile
About the producer
Limu Growers
Farmers in the Limu region of Ethiopia are known for their deep-rooted connection to coffee cultivation working on small, family-run farms in the highlands of Jimma and Illubabor. Most of the farms are small, often less than 2 hectares and follow cultivation passed down through multiple generations. Coffee is grown in what are known as ‘gardens’ with the coffee plants under shade trees, a method now recognised for helping with biodiversity and soil care. Once the cherries are harvested, they are taken to a washing station that is often community owned and processed.
